Game 5 vs Skaven

Mission: Watchtower

Blight Club list  (Invaders)

Bubo Saggings (Lord of Afflictions)

Raquel Squelch (Lord of Blights)

The Blight Girls (Blightkings)

Father Cystmas (Skaven Plague Priest)

Samwise Gangrene (pusgoyle blightlord (single))

Bellyadoc Bandyguts & Purulent Took (Pusgoyle Blightlords)

Skaven (Guardian)

Warlock Bombardier (garrison)

Stormfiends (garrison)

Plague Claw  (garrison)

Rat Ogres  (reinforcements)

Doomwheel  (reinforcements)

Stormvermin  (reinforcements)

Enemy deployed with stormfiends and bombardier inside the tower, and plagueclaw outside.  The intention behind this was to give them larger coverage of the board when shooting, as well as a bit of extra protection.  However, I was able to charge all of my fly units into the tower, meaning everything inside got D3 mortal wounds for each fly, as they all counted as being within 1" for my wrack and ruin ability.  This killed the Bombardier (who was already wounded from its last mission) and two of the three stormfiends.  I also managed to do damge to the plague claw on the charge. I was then able to finish the remaning units off in the combat phase.

In the enemy turn he brought on the rest of his army, who all managed to get into combat, except for the doomwheel.  They managed to kill a puslord and a blightking or two, but did not survive the combat phase.  Only the Doomwheel survived, so every surviving unit charged towards it and finished it off.

I then spent the rest of the game rallying my troops so that I would avoid casualty rolls, and moving my people around to gain my quest.

One thing must be said, these PTG scenarios really love Nurgle.  Especially at such low points.  I don't think the games will become balanced unti we're plakying 2K games.

Game 4 vs Soulblight Gravelords

Mission: Hold or Die

Blight Club list  (Invaders)

Bubo Saggings (Lord of Afflictions - vanguard)

The Blight Girls (Blightkings - vanguard)

Father Cystmas (Skaven Plague Priest - reinforcements)

The Pusy Splat Dolls (Rotmire Creed - reinforcements)

Souldblight Gravelords (Custodian)

Vampire Lord

Direwolves

Zombie Dragon

Vargskyr

Bloodknights

Enemy deplyed knights and vargskyr at one end of the table, and everything else at the other.  I had first turn and moved Bubo and Blightgirls towards the Kights/ Vargskyr end.  Then depolyed Pusy-splat and Father Cystmas 3" away from knights before shooting and charging them with Pusy-splat and Blight Girls (there was only a coupe of knights left by the time I did this, so figured Blight Girls would be safe, and it would also get them further away from the other units at the other end of the board.)  Also charged Bubo into Vargskyr, figuring a L.O.A should be fine.  The Knights were finished off.  Bubo was wounded, but Vaskyr was worse off.

In opponants turn, Zombie dragon flew from the other side of the board and killed three blightkings, but did not survive the round due to unleash hell from Pusy Splat dolls, and combat with both the dolls and the Blight Girls - although it was the deseases that finished it off.  Bubo finished off the vaskyr and Father Cystmas, as always, did nothing.  Opponant then conceded.

Game 3 vs Beast of Chaos

Mission: Hold or Die

Blight Club list  (Custodian)

Raquel Squelch (Lord of Blights)

The Blight Girls (Blightkings)

Pfffrt (Beasts of Chaos Chaos spawn)

The Pusy Splat Dolls (Rotmire Creed)

Beasts of Chaos List (Invader)

Beastlord (vanguard)

Bestigors  (vanguard)

Ungors  (reinforcements)

Ungor raiders  (reinforcements)

Deployed Blightgirls and Raquel Squelch at one end of the board, and pusy-splat dolls and pfffrt at the other to box them in.  Enemy took firt turn and shot at pfffrt from off board, but didn't kill him.  Then tried their luck at charging blight girls and raquel with entire vanguard.  Bestigors succeeded, but beastlord didn't.  The Bestigors were wiped out.  In my turn I charged the Beastlord and killed him with Raquel Squelch.  Having wiped the vanguard out, that was a major victory.

Game 2 vs Fyerslayers

Mission: Sudden Assault

Blight Club list  (Custodian)

Bubo Saggings (Lord of Afflictions)

Samflies Gangrene (Pusgoyle Blightlord)

Father Cystmas (Skaven Plague Priest)

The Pusy Splat Dolls (Rotmire Creed)

Fyerslayers List (Invader)

Runefather

Grimwrath

Auric Heathguard

Heathguard Berzerkers

Same pre-game move as before, controlling two quarters from the start (thought the dwarves wouldn’t get to me ask quickly as the bears did.)  Both Bubo and Samflies started off with D3 mortals due to being critically injured from last battle.

Fyerslayers took the first turn, as they were the invaders.  Grimwrath made a beeline towards rotflies, but not enough to charge, everything else moved toward Pusy-Splat Dolls and Father Cystmas, who were taking cover in scenery.  Auric Heathguard shot and killed one of the Dolls.

Fearing the Daemon Slayer axe, which negates my ward save, I moved Bubo away from the Grimwrath, but left Samflies.  A combination of a volley from Rotmire Creed and desease points took out the Auric Heathguard.  End of round 1.  2 quarters/ victory points each.

Fyerslayers took first turn again.  Grimwrath charged Samflies, but didn’t pull off quite so much damage as I’d feared.  Runefather and Heathguard Berzerkers charged Father Cystmas and the Pusy-Splat Dolls, who unleashed hell and took a couple out.  Half of the Pusy-Splat Dolls were killed.

In my turn, Bubo Saggings flew behind the Grimwrath, summoned a Sloppity Bilepiper into the enemy’s now empty territory, and then charged the Grimwrath, finishing him off in combat.  The runefather killed Father Cystmas, but passed all the wounds that the Pusy-Splat Doll’s dealt him on to his Hearthguard, who were wiped out.

With only one runefather left, the Fyerslayers withdrew.

Aftermath

Major victory, and having general left alive meant lots of glory points.  Completing my quest (Defeand Your Realm) meant lots more Glory points.  Also, lots of renown points, turning Pusy-Splat Dolls into a veteran unit with the Deadly Volley ability.

Father Cystmas’ injury roll meant he was Critically Injured, meaning I’ll sit him out of the next game, as D3 wounds on a character with only 5 wounds is rough!  He hasn’t done much so far anyway.  All of the Pusy-Splat Dolls were healed.

I selected Search for Artifcat of Power for my next quest, looking for an arcane tome.  I also added three units, Raquel Squelch (Lord of Blights) and The Blight Girls (Blightkings) and Pffrt (chaos spawn.)  This leaves me with 14 Glory points.

Game 1  vs Cities of Sigmar (using dwarf proxy models)

Mission: Sudden Assault

Blight Club list  (Custodian)

Bubo Saggings (Lord of Afflictions)

Samflies Gangrene (Pusgoyle Blightlord)

Father Cystmas (Skaven Plague Priest)

The Pusy-Splat Dolls (Rotmire Creed)

Dwarf List (Invader)

Battle Mage

Dwarven Ram Riders (Dark Riders)

Kharidbyss (War Hydra)

Dwarven Great Bears (Stormcast Dracothian Guard Fulminators)

With my Drowned Men pre-game move, I put my two fly units into a second quarter of the board, so that I controlled two, knowing that they could be attacked, but not worrying, because they're tough!

Dwarves took the first round, as they were the invaders.  Ram Riders moved to claim a different quarter and piled shots into Bubo. Battle Mage buffed the hydra and great bears up to the eyeballs, who then charged and killed Bubo Saggings in turn one (even with his Splithorn Helm 4+ ward save!)

In my turn, Samflies, already damaged by the Hydra, ‘piled in’ out of combat with the great bears to try to survive, but, despite Rotmire firing a load of blowpipes into the hydra, it didn’t take him down, and, by the time combat came around, he had finished off Samflies.  End of round one.  The enemy controlled three quarters, I controlled one.

I won the roll-off, so took the first go, and withdrew my army at the start of my hero phase.

Aftermath

No quest points, minimal glory and renown points.  Bubo’s injury role was a critical injury and Samflies actually died, so I spent a glory point to re-roll, which reduced it to a critical injury.

All in all, a pretty bad start to the Path to Glory.  Still, it offered an opportunity to explore Bubo’s character.  I’ve never lost a Lord of Afflictions so easily before, so was a little too confident about his chances against the great bears/ Fulminators.  But I think that’s going to translate into a character trait of Bubos, arrogant and conceited, and he’ll be pissed off about losing to the bears for a long time to come!
